Who Am I?
Just to give you some information about my background. I’m a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and a member of CPA Ontario and CPA Manitoba.
After completing my university program I graduated with an Honors Degree in Economics. Subsequent to that I spent a year working in the City (the financial district) in London, England. At the time I was involved in the early development of the Eurobond market. The Eurobond market was in the early stages of its development at that time.
I returned to Canada and earned the designation of Chartered Accountant.
While employed with the firm of Clarkson Gordon (a predecessor to Ernst & & Young) I moved to Toronto. A subsequent move to me to the then firm of Coopers & Lybrand.
An assignment at Coopers had me involved in the developing over the counter interest rate swap market. As a result of that involvement, I made a move to the financial services sector.
Over the counter risk management tools become the focus of my professional work. After leaving financial services I was once again involved in public accounting. I also decided to teach accounting which I did at a number of colleges in the Greater Toronto Area.
To broaden my teaching experience I spent one year teaching at the National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. I returned to Canada looking to get involved in other areas of interest.
After many years of teaching, public accounting and working in industry it became obvious to me that there is a vast amount of material available to accountants. With this in mind, I founded the Accounting Library.
